We went pick some parsley and kale from our garden and found this surprise on our parsley plant:
They are Black Swallowtail Caterpillars. When you touch or alarm them they evert an orange forked gland (which gives off a smell to repel predators). "M" loved "photographing" these!
We checked on some other veggies in our garden. The beets and pepper plants are looking good and we added some compost around them (after these photos were taken).
Then we picked some Kale and came inside to make more Kale Crisps for Daddy. They're his favorite!
This afternoon we went and purchased wood to make 6 more raised beds! We've learned that we definitely LOVE our fresh garden veggies and want more! Will share pictures as we get them assembled and planted.
