This was our 2nd week of Birds and our nephew (8 years old) joined us this week! He will be staying with us 2-3 days a week throughout the summer since both of his parents work.
CIRCLE TIME:
Some of our songs during Circle Time this week included:
2 Little Birds
Two little birds, sitting on a wall
One named Peter, the other named Paul
Fly away Peter, fly away Paul
Come back Peter, come back Paul
Two little birds, sitting on a wall
Two little birds, sitting on a cloud
One named Soft, the other named Loud
Fly away Soft, fly away Loud
Come back Soft, come back Loud
Two little birds, sitting on a wall
Kookaburra

PRINTABLES
"M" continued with the printables from Homeschool Creations and 1+1+1=1. We also colored and learned about our state bird (the Mockingbird) from KidZone.
"Nephew" copied the poem "Little Robin Red Breast" and drew a picture of a Robin.
Little Robin Red breast sat upon a tree,
Up went pussy cat and down went he;
Down came pussy, and away Robin ran;
Says little Robin Red breast, "Catch me if you can".
Little Robin Red breast jumped upon a wall,
Pussy cat jumped after him and almost got a fall;
Little Robin chirped and sang, and what did pussy say?
Pussy cat said, "Meeow!" and Robin jumped away.
Up went pussy cat and down went he;
Down came pussy, and away Robin ran;
Says little Robin Red breast, "Catch me if you can".
Little Robin Red breast jumped upon a wall,
Pussy cat jumped after him and almost got a fall;
Little Robin chirped and sang, and what did pussy say?
Pussy cat said, "Meeow!" and Robin jumped away.
CRAFT: Bird Binoculars
Sorry, I don't have a photo of the finished product, but you paint two toilet paper rolls, glue them together, poke one hole through each side of the binoculars, and tie a string through it. More details and photos are in the link above.
We also had some impromptu learning about turtles!
